L'obiettivo principale del Collegium è quello di suscitare nelle nuove generazioni l’interesse nei confronti della storia e dell’eredità del cinema muto e di avvicinare le nuove leve a quella comunità scientifica molto speciale che si è sviluppata a Pordenone attorno alle Giornate del Cinema Muto.
Banca Popolare FriulAdria, partner storico delle Giornate del Cinema Muto, ha deciso di abbracciare la filosofia del Collegium istituendo nel 2008 un apposito premio con cui vuole anche riaffermare il suo impegno nella formazione e nella valorizzazione dei giovani talenti del cinema, sia nel campo della critica cinematografica sia in quelli della regia e della sceneggiatura.
Il premio consiste in 500 euro assegnati annualmente all'autore del miglior "Collegium paper".
From 2008, the Collegium Papers are eligible for the annual Premio Banca Popolare FriulAdria. The prize, of 500 euros, will go to the paper adjudged the best of its year, and is awarded by the Banca Popolare FriulAdria. This historical partner of the Giornate del Cinema Muto has a long-standing engagement with the training and development of young cinema talents, alike in the field of criticism, screen-writing and film-making. With this new prize it recognises the aim of the Collegium to stimulate the interest of new generations in the history and heritage of silent cinema, and to involve them in the distinctive scientific community which has developed in Pordenone thanks to the work of the Giornate.
