JLY 4/24/2010 Updated
PCU Apr 23, 2010 Clips # 5114, 5115 and 5116 definitely belong to a different film, Lemke als Brotbaecker (Lux, 1911), Joye cat no 932 and should be separated from the rest. Please note: Turconi mistakenly gave MAN SOLL DEN TAG NICHT the wrong number on the envelope: it should have been 937. Lemke als Brotmaker is listed in Joye catalogue as number 932, SOLL DEN... as number 937. I am also uncertain about the identity of frame 4591, but let’s leave it with SOLL DEN... for the time being.
UR 1/18/08 Should read “Man soll den Tag nicht vor dem Abend loben” (’Don’t praise the day before the evening,’ loosely translated: ‘Don’t count your chickens before they’re hatched’). |
