PCU, Apr 1st, 2010: or is it # 771? This would correspond to Joye Catalog, SEINE MAJESTÄT DAS KIND. This is very confusing.
PCU, Apr 1st, 2010 - Note the absence of edge code, unusual in a Gaumont film.
PCU, Dec 4, 2009: Joye Catalog 1960 lists title 175 (”Turconi Envelope”) as EISERNE MASKE (Itala, Italy), a story set in France under Richelieu. Here is another instance (the second so far) of inconsistency between the Turconi envelope number and the Joye Catalog. I also find surprising that Turconi didn’t cut any frames from EISERNE MASKE, an important Italian film. He also apparently didn’t cut any frames from THE GUERRILLA, a D.W. Griffith film. Maybe because he decided to take the films to Italy for duplication?
SBL 5/13/09 FIAF lists original title as “Le Moise du Moulin” director as Léonce Perret
also FIAF does NOT list BFI as a holding archive. I assume this is the same film (as year, production company, and title match), but want to note the discrepancy here.
German title translates as “His Majesty the Child” - UR 1/31/08 |
