PCU, Apr 22, 2010 Clips # 7238, 7239, 7240 and 7241 belong to a different film. The others are definitely from a Pathé film, edge code “Exhibition Interdite en France en Suisse en Belgique”. To make things worse, Joye catalogue 1960 says that main title is from Pineschi. But this must surely be apocryphal, unless frames 7238, 7239, 7240 and 7241 are from that company, which I find unlikely. If title on envelope comes from that Pineschi title, DES ANGLERS LANGE STANDE may have nothing to do with this item. Please note that frame 7239 has some inscriptions in the scene. Well worth checking language with a magnifying glass.
According to BFI website’s shot description, these clippings appear to come from “Canne à pêche curieuse”, Gaumont (1908). In Moreau’s filmography this title is listed under 1909. Still, the clippings display Pathé Frères edge inscriptions - DC
Maybe should read “Des Anglers lange Stange” (The Angler’s Long Pole)? - UR 1/17-08 |
