Il cinema muto inglese sta ottenendo nuovo interesse da parte della critica, grazie anche alle recenti proiezioni alle Giornate del Cinema Muto. In risposta a questo rinnovato interesse, a Notthingham, in Inghilterra si tiene ogni aprile il British Silent Cinema Weekend. Siamo molto grati alle Giornate di presentare un breve programma comprendente le opere migliori e le future proposte del Weekend: un film interpretato da Dorothy Gish e una selezione di cortometraggi Hepworth riflettono il tema del prossima edizione dedicato alla recitazione, mentre dalla rassegna del 1999 sulla commedia proponiamo alcuni dei titoli migliori.
British silent cinema is enjoying a new critical interest, thanks in part to its recent exposure at the Giornate del Cinema Muto. In response to this revived interest, the British Silent Cinema Weekend has been started up, held in Nottingham, UK, every April. We are grateful to the Giornate for allowing us to present this short programme of highlights and future attractions from the Weekend - a Dorothy Gish feature and a selection of Hepworth shorts reflecting the next Weekend’s theme of Performance, and some of the best titles from the 1999 Weekend on Comedy.
