Program Notes |
This sweetly arch pastiche of silent film styles, with its contemporary metaphorical message, does not fit easily into the familiar context of New Romanian Cinema, with its predominantly contemporary-realist mood. Armand (the clown-like Cristian Grosu) is relaxing in his garden when he is attacked by unknown forces, and flees. In his flight he finds Marie crying in the street and gallantly decides to save her. After taking her to the safety of his cottage, Armand realizes that his attacker was no other than Global Warming. He sets out to save the world and Marie. - DAVID ROBINSON |
