Program Notes |
I am an independent filmmaker and professional editor living in San Francisco, California. Bored Games is my first narrative piece – before that I worked exclusively in documentary. Since Bored Games I’ve become completely hooked on narrative filmmaking – nothing can compare to the experience of having an idea inside your head and then watching it come to life on the set and then on the screen. I made Bored Games in ten hours, as part of a filmmaking competition called Cinemasports. We won first place! I was inspired to make a silent film for two reasons: (1) I had just attended the San Francisco Silent Film Festival, and absolutely fell in love with the aesthetic of silent films and wanted to make one of my own; (2) I didn’t have any sound equipment.
