THE PRIMA VISTA SOCIAL CLUB ha debuttato nell'edizione 2006 del Bristol
Slapstick Festival. Gli entusiastici applausi con cui il pubblico ha
accolto in quell’occasione l’accompagnamento eseguito dai
Prima Vista per Safety Last! per poco non hanno fatto crollare
l’affollatissimo
teatro – il Colston Hall, uno dei più grandi luoghi per
concerti in Inghilterra. Il Club si compone di cinque musicisti, tutti
esperti di
improvvisazione per il cinema muto, tutti amici tra loro e tutti noti
al pubblico delle Giornate. Sono Neil Brand (piano), Günter Buchwald
(violino), Denis Biason (chitarra), Romano Todesco (fisarmonica) e Frank
Bockius (batteria). Negli ultimi anni i musicisti che improvvisano per
il cinema hanno fatto sempre più esperimenti come duetti o terzetti
e tutti questi musicisti hanno lavorato insieme nell’una o nell’altra
combinazione. Tuttavia, questo è stato il loro primo impegno come
quintetto ed il loro esordio è stato un trionfo assoluto. Sacile
avrà il privilegio di vedere ed ascoltare la loro seconda esibizione
in tandem con Harold Lloyd.
THE PRIMA VISTA SOCIAL CLUB made its debut at the 2006 Bristol Slapstick
Festival, when the tumultuous reception of its performance of Safety
Last! came close to bringing down the roof of the packed Colston
Hall, one of
Britain's largest concert venues. The Club is made up of five musicians
all expert in improvisation for silent cinema, all friends, and all well
known to the Giornate public. They are Neil Brand (piano), Günter
Buchwald (violin), Denis Biason (guitar), Romano Todesco (accordion),
and Frank Bockius (drums). In recent years improvisational film musicians
have
increasingly experimented as duos and trios, and all these musicians
have worked together in one combination or another. This though was their
first
undertaking as an improvisational quintet; and their debut was an unqualified
- not to say riotous - triumph. Sacile is privileged to see and hear
their second performance in tandem with Harold Lloyd.
