fare a raggiungerla?
nitrato) e la versione ridotta a 28mm (50 metri in bianco e nero) rivela
sorprese incredibili. / An old astronomer has long adored a star. He
has only one desire to approach it and declare his passion. But
how shall he achieve this? Watching children playing with soap bubbles
gives him an idea that is at once simple and inspired. A magic film, from
which even more incredible surprises emerge when the complete version
from a tinted, 35mm nitrate original is compared with the
abridged 28mm version. SB, EL
LES INCONVENIENTS DE LA BIERE (Théophile
Pathé, F1907)
Dir.: ?; 35mm, 146m, 7 (18 fps), Lobster Films. Didascalie in
francese / French intertitles.
The
adventures of a gentleman who has downed 13 bocks of beer and is consequently
in search of an appropriate place to relieve himself. Despite the instability
of the image present in both the surviving copies that have been
traced this is a very amusing film, though not recommended to persons
of refined taste. SB, EL
THE TIP (Rolin Film Co., US 1917)

(Snub) Pollard, Bebe Daniels; prima proiezione / released 6.1.1918;
35mm, 269m, 12 (20 fps), Lobster Films. Didascalie in tedesco /
German intertitles.
You
cannot be politically correct all the time. The theme of the film is simple.
Having drunk a little too much, Harold consults a fortune-teller who tells
him that he is going to be run over by a motor car in the street. This
film from Lloyds age of one-reeler innocence is very funny, though
its final gag represents a lapse of taste particularly startling in the
context of the Giornates highlighting of African-American cinema
this year. DR
